No financial terms were released, but the Plain Dealer reported it is worth $4.55 million.

His 25 round-trippers also stands as a new club record for shortstops -- eclipsing Jhonny Peralta's previous high of 24 back in 2005 -- and the 92 runs batted in led all American Leaguers at his position.

Over five major-league seasons, all with Cleveland, the native of Venezuela is a .281 hitter with 43 homers, 119 doubles and 258 RBI in 538 games.
